Mid-Autumn Day Is Celebrated When It Is

As one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, Mid-Autumn Festival, falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, Sept 27th this year.
Mid-Autumn Festival’s legend concerns Houyi, an archer, who saved
the earth by shooting down nine of the suns. He became a tyrant and stole an

elixir from a goddess, but his beautiful wife, Change’e, drank it to save the people from her husband’s forever tyrannical rule. After drinking it, she found herself floating, grabbed a rabbit to keep her company and then flew to the moon. When the local people heard this, they arranged incense tables to worship the goddess Chang’e, praying for happiness and safety. Since then, worshipping and appreciating the moon during Mid-Autumn festival has become popular.

Eating mooncakes while watching the full moon is the most important activity of the Mid-Autumn Festival in China, and is more like a symbol of family unity. As moon cakes are given as presents to loved ones and it represents people’s wishes to be together during the mid-autumn festival.
As for King Marine family, you, our respected customers are members of our family. We would like to take this occasion to extend to you our best regards. Hope we can reunite together very soon.

Only way is down for October skipjack prices
For September deliveries, prices in both Thailand and Ecuador were at around $1,500 per metric ton.Even with the ban on catching with fish aggregation devices (FADs) -- which began July 1 and runs for four months -- still in place in the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO), prices are looking set to correct down.

Tuna supply and canning executives told Undercurrent News that prices for October have not yet been agreed, but that a drop is almost inevitable. The question is, one said, “how much?”

A combination of the above factors saw prices increase by $500/t from the level of around $1,000/t in March in Bangkok.“We might expect $1,300- 1,350/t for October,” said one US-based executive, source A, speaking under an agreement of anonymity. An Asian-based packer (source B) and a supplier (source C) both gave a higher outlook of around $1,400/t, for skipjack delivered to Thailand’s capital, Bangkok.“It won’t stop there. The likely price drop will be going further than that. I think there are still some out there who wondered why the price went up as far as $1,500/t,” source A told Undercurrent.
